Neighborhood Schoolhouse

The Neighborhood Schoolhouse Program provides a holistic and balanced approach to educating and nurturing a child. Using “best practices” based on research and outcome, NSH can provide the solid foundation your child needs for academic and social success in elementary school AND provide nurturing support all-day with extended hours so that you can work and study.

Kindergarten Readiness – Absolutely!

Each morning our four and five year olds focus on skills specific to academic success: letter and number recognition, sorting, sequencing, pre-reading and early reading decoding, patterns, simple computation and more!  Our staff knows what is needed for school achievement and prepares the children to meet those expectations so they can be leaders in the classroom.

Neighborhood Schoolhouse is state licensed and provide access to quality care through reasonable private pay rates and by accepting DSHS subsidies.

The Best Meals in Town

All meals for the children and staff are provided by NSH and lovingly prepared by Stacey Larsen as part of our program.  Our meals are cooked on-site, homemade everyday with organic, local, fresh ingredients.  Vegetarian meal choices are served.  Water bottles are always available for a quick drink during activities. Sugary treats are not served.  Our favorites are Stacey’s chicken pesto pasta at lunch and Rebecca’s high protein shake at snack!

We learn to pour, cut, measure, cook, wash hands, use polite table manners, talk together, set, be thankful, pass, and sit and more!

We can all look forward to a new year of great food, fun, music, reading, fresh air and interesting discussions.
